In Belarus there is a very popular summer school for students from 12 to 17 years old called Brigantina. Being organised by the Ministry of Education and the Belarusian State University since 1995, it has become the most important summer event for talented youth. The Principal and the founder of the summer school is Prof. Boris Zadvorny.One of the main objectives of the school is to initiate students into the secrets of research work, developing creativity of thinking and especially patience in solving difficult problems. Thus, from the beginning each student is asked to choose a subject among dozens offered, upon which he/she will reflect during the summer school with help of teachers and other students. All advancements are to be communicated at the final conference.
Most students continue their works afterwards finding original ideas and obtaining outstanding results – they are invited to present their achievements at national and international conferences with subsequent awards and prizes.

• Three important events: an olympiad (in all sciences), a team tournament (in Mathematics

• Participants are winners and laureates of regional, national and international olympiads,
